Sustainability Coordinator Job Description
The Sustainability Coordinator is the key point of contact for all sustainability initiatives on a production.
Often working under a Sustainability Consultant, the Coordinator, will also need to forge strong relationships with key crew members in order to keep the sustainability message in mind across the production.
A key part of the role will be communications, both written and verbally, being a ‘people person’ is important as we’re often not the first department to be wanted on set.
On some projects you will be supported by a Sustainability Assistant, but all projects are different, so you will need to be able to work flexibly in order to respond to the changing needs of each production.
Day to day tasks include:
- Monthly data gathering and entry into carbon footprinting tools (most regularly Albert or Green Production Guide)
- Budget Management and writing purchase orders
- Distributing documentation to production and accounts and all crew as required.
- Organising schedule of Sustainability Assistants on the show, if there are any.
- Regular site walkarounds to check on bin set up and adherence to compliance issues, such as correct storage of battery boxes etc.
