I have worked in film & TV for 20 years, working across a number of departments including production and locations, before settling on my role in sustainability 4 years ago.

I particularly enjoy working with suppliers and the larger spider web of businesses that make up our industry and helping them to see the potential for their businesses to be more sustainable in the future.

I am The Chair of the Production Guild of Great Britain’s Sustainability Working Group, a Founding Member of The Generator Project and an Affiliate Member of IEMA.

After working in education, my passion for environmental protection lead me to retrain as a sustainability professional through a MSc Environmental Management in 2021. After graduating, I worked as part of the Sustainable Film team on Rings of Power S2 specialising in data collection and processing (as well as all of the fun hands-on set work!).

I am now responsible for supporting the industry supply chain to understand their environmental footprint with our calculator Roots.

After working worldwide as an electrician and lighting tech in the live events and outside broadcasting industries for 7 years, I joined Sustainable Film as a power specialist.

Becki Nash

Sustainable Production Co-ordinator

I’ve been a Sustainability Coordinator at Sustainable Film for almost four years, working with many large-scale film and television productions to embed sustainable practices across every department. I use both the BAFTA albert and Green Production Guide toolkits to track environmental impact, achieve certification, and help productions reduce carbon emissions while looking ahead to develop long-term sustainability strategies.

With a BA in Film Studies from King’s College London and an IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management, I’m interested in both the creative and practical integration of sustainability on productions, with aspirations of bridging these to help drive long-lasting positive change in the industry.

Sustainable Production Co-ordinator

I began working in the Film and TV industry in 2022, starting as a Sustainability Assistant on several projects before progressing to a coordinator role.

For the past three years, I have worked with Sustainable Film, supporting studio productions in meeting their environmental goals. I work closely with key departments, share sustainability updates with the crew and help teams adopt more environmentally friendly practices.

I also calculate each production’s carbon footprint using BAFTA’s albert calculator or the Green Production Guide’s PEACH, PEAR, and PLUM toolkit. In addition, I have played a key role in developing the crew onboarding process for Sustainable Film.

Sustainable Production Co-ordinator

After completing a master’s degree in Marine Conservation, where I developed a keen understanding of how human activities impact the environment, I began working with Sustainable Film as a Production Assistant in 2021.

With several successful productions in a hands-on role under my belt, I moved up to become a coordinator. I now help reduce production’s carbon footprint through waste, power, and resource management, as well as help them gain sustainability certification through BAFTA albert.

Sustainable Production Co-ordinator

My interest in working within both sustainability and the TV and Film Industry led me to pursue a Masters of Science degree in Global Futures (Culture & Creativity).

Since then, I have worked with Sustainable Film on a variety of productions to help develop and implement sustainable practices across the industry.

In my current role as Sustainability Coordinator, my responsibilities include coordinating the delivery of sustainability initiatives and protocols to ensure production targets and certification goals are met, generating reports for stakeholders, creating crew-facing communications and managing department team members.

Sustainable Production Co-ordinator

In 2019, I graduated with a Film Studies BA at King’s College, London, and I was fortunate to work in the creative industries for 6 years, almost 4 of which I spent in Film and TV as part of the Sustainability Department.

Working as a coordinator marries my love for the film industry with my strong interest in sustainability. On a daily basis, I aim to improve the usage of power, fuel, transport and waste management of productions, as well as support every department in finding better solutions and making greener choices.
